Bastos congregation welcomes new PCC moderator

A special Church service to welcome the new Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon (PCC), Rev. Samuel Fonki Forba, took place at the PCC Church in the Bastos neighbourhood in Yaounde on Thursday, November 27, 2014.

The church service was an opportunity for the Christians of PCC Bastos Congregation to give thanks to God for the election of their Parish Pastor, Rev. Samuel Fonki Forba to the office of the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon and to pray for God’s continuous guidance as he takes up the task of leading God’s flock as the executive head of the PCC.

Rev. Samuel Fonki, 48, was elected during the 47th Synod of the PCC that took place in Bamenda on November 25, 2014 while Rev. Babila Fochang George became the new Synod Clerk.

The Synod, which is the highest governing structure of the PCC, dropped curtains in Bamenda on November 25, 2014 with the former Moderator, Rt. Rev. Dr. Festus Asana stepping aside for a new team to lead the PCC in hope. In effect, Rev. Samuel Fonki becomes the 6th Moderator after Rev. Phillip Ngole, Rev. J.C Kangsen, Rev. Henry Awasum, Rt. Rev, Nyansaku Ni Nku and Rt. Rev. Festus A. Asana.

Until his election on November 25, 2014, Rev. Samuel Fonki was the PCC Presbytery Secretary for East Mungo North, Partnership Secretary of the PCC and Parish Pastor of the Bastos congregation in Yaounde.
