Music: Audio cassette is back

After vinyl, old audio tape refuses is not dead yet. The Sony company has already recorded current songs on cassette tapes.

Nostalgic 80s will be revived with the return of "K7", improved Walkmans. The "K7", yet abandoned in 2010 by the Japanese firm, is back with a new device, based on the spray deposition technology.

This is magnetic nano-crystal layers on the strip, their very small size facilitates the accumulation of a large number of particles. The tapes are considered robust, reliable and inexpensive and have a lifespan of fifty years while DVDs have a shelf life of about four years in perfect condition.

The output of the tapes in 2010 market was premature. The general public has overshadowed behind the DVD and CD. In recent years, the return of cassettes is making great strides. The cassette market even rose by around 13% in 2012 and 26% in 2013.
