Yannick, Joakim Noah invest 65 million in Yaounde

The Government Delegate to the Yaounde City Council, the prefect of Mfoundi and the Prime Minister have successively received the Noah family accompanied by a large delegation, concerning the proposed construction of a city of nearly 1,000 homes.

The giant model of the City of Fiftieth designed by architect, Philippe Bisseck, was exhibited in the salons of the Hotel de Ville Yaounde.

According to Qutodien Le Messager on Monday, November 16, 2015, Yannick Noah and Joachim landed at the Douala International Airport on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, by a special flight.

"The CEO of a major company in Lyons, financial expert, international bill landscape, building specialists, his lawyers," were part of the large delegation accompanying Joachim Noah, according to the newspaper.

The Djoungolo valley is the site which would be used to house this immense project. It was a question for the delegation to get the agreements the authorities mentioned upstream to safely lead the project.

According to sources close to the newspaper, trade between Gilbet Tsimi Evouna, the Government Delegate to the Yaounde City Council and the delegation were fruitful. The installation of a giant park is planned on the site, "a corrected Wood St Anastasia," we were informed.

Philemon Yang Prime Minister and his colleagues were keen to understand the project in detail. Also, he questioned on financing, the validity, scope, rights and duties of each partner.

"It was therefore explained that the Djoungolo valley which is the subject of a declaration of public utility must be very quickly, and permanently available to the project," sources informed, as it is currently subject to illegal occupation by individuals.

"The Prime Minister has agreed to the project that he will personally lay the first stone in the coming months," reported the newspaper.
