The Funfair Yaoundé en Fête (Ya - Fe) will celebrate its 10th anniversary on a new site: the Palais des Congrès.

After nine years of occupying the 20TH May Boulevard at the central town, the organizers decided to move the fair to the lowlands of mount Nkonyada, at the top of which the Palais des Congrès is found.

“There is need to positively explain this in the sense that we are trying to have sufficient space and that the 20th May Boulevard in its current configuration, with closed roads and traffic constraints, has become very small, or even dangerous,” explained Pierre Zumbach.

The promoter of the event in an interview with Cameroon Tribune on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, indicated that he has been getting information from the authorities, including the police who are familiar with security problems in urban areas".

For its 10th anniversary, Ya - Fe will take place on the ground floor of the Palais des Congrès. It is scheduled for December 18, 2015, to 3 January 2016. The organizers announced several innovations.

“We will like to inform people that Ya - Fe is awaiting them as usual, with multiple activities which are primarily commercial, since small trades take advantage of this year-end celebrations period, to propose their best to its customers,” said Pierre Zumbach.

It, therefore, will provide a fun party with growing strides. There will also be new activities. The gastronomic and festive party will always have its place, "while keeping in mind that we have to drink beer with wisdom". And then there are the cultural part and animation which remains very popular.

Aside these activities, we are preparing surprises as well. There are the ‘Théâtre de verdure’ and the large Palais des Congrès podium which will be fully exploited. We will also have in a large 1,500 square meters tent, a coffee room live with music, recreation, food, drink, dance, etc", underlined the promoter of Ya - Fe.
