The Local Departmental Finance Committee (Codefil) of Wouri has set strategies to improve on its finance.
The prefect, Naseri Paul Bea, urged them on while opening the work of the Local Departmental Finance Committee on Wednesday September 9 in Bonanjo.
“The public finances of Wouri occupy a residual place while the potential of Douala is huge,” noted the prefect in the presence of the sub-prefects and district mayors.
Communes can do better and should not, according to the head of the territory, settle for communal surcharges. The clear objective identified consists of boosting recoveries, including the increase in the capabilities of the town halls.
Another problem noted, was the "significant delay" accused by the Douala Urban Community (CUD) in the payment of the General Allocation of Function (Dgf) in the House of Commons. Cud has therefore been asked to speed things up on this side
Furthermore, regarding the credits transferred in the context of the decentralization process, the prefect noted "some timidity" in their consumption, which is completely counterproductive.
