Minister of Water and Energy, Basile Atangana Kouna Minister of Water and Energy, Basile Atangana Kouna

The Ambassador of Israel to Cameroon, His Excellency Ran Rigor has told the Minister of Water and Energy, Basile Atangana Kouna that his country until recently, could be compared to the Far North of Cameroon where natural resources are scarce making the supply of potable water near-existent.

Ambassador Ran Rigor in an audience with Atangana Kouna disclosed that his country was now an exporter of water to other countries thanks to the use of innovative technology.

The country has developed the technology of desalination whereby enough water is taped and re-used, offering them the opportunity to be self-sufficient in terms of water supply. Cameroon is blessed, its potential is huge and Ran Rigor sees no reason why the country suffer from water crisis, the Israeli diplomate holds.

He told the press at the end of the audience that; “I suggested a few areas of cooperation in Cameroon in the field of water, solar energy and alternative green energy”. He was happy at the response of the minister, stating that; “We are ready to move immediately. It now depends on the Cameroonian side.”
