Tunisian economic operators invited to invest in Cameroon

Abdellatif Hamam, CEO of the Tunisian Centre for the promotion of exports (CEPEX), invited the economic operators of its countries "to invest in Cameroon, countries that has potential in the sectors of agriculture, health, education and training, information and communication, energy and environmental technologies", announced the Tunisian press January 22, 2015 relaying a Tunisian-Cameroonian partnership opportunities meeting held the same day in Tunis.

According to the same sources, the CEO of CEPEX recalled that Cameroon is a country open to investors of the world", while stressing that it is essential to attract the interest of economic operators in that country for Tunisia, through the organisation of visits for them to discover the Tunisian production apparatus and experiment with medical, educational and tourist services.

This, finally, put emphasis on the role of the Board of the Tunisian-Cameroonian case in the strengthening of the partnership between the two countries. To do this, learned, the Council must define the prospects for partnership between the two countries and develop a plan of actions in this direction.

For Walsh Bouchamaoui, President of the Tunisian Union of industry, trade and handicrafts (UTICA), the Tunisia and Cameroon enjoy excellent relations of cooperation. With regard to economic and trade cooperation, Cameroon became one of the most important partners of the Tunisia in sub-Saharan Africa and the Tunisia remains its first partner in North Africa, although bilateral trade remained modest, despite a growing dynamism.

Indeed, we learn from good sources, in 2013, Cameroon was the 30th customer of the Tunisia, all countries alike, while it was ranked 64th in 2005. Over the same period, Cameroon became the 52nd supplier of Tunisia against 85th in 2005.
