Tender for feasibility studies of three railway lines launched

Government has launched a restricted international tender, to hire a firm to carry out the feasibility studies on three railway lines for construction projects in the country including the Edea-Kribi, Douala-Limbe and Ngaoundéré-Douala lines.

These new rail lines, which are integrated into the national rail plan designed by the Government, are linked to other major projects underway in these localities in Cameroon.

Indeed, the line of railway from Edéa to Kribi will serve the Kribi deep sea port, which will become the largest port infrastructure of the country after its commissioning.

The optimization of the activity of the future deep sea port in Limbe in the southwest region depends on the construction of the line of railway between that city and Douala, the economic capital of the country.

The line of railway project from Douala to Ngaoundéré, will enable the linking of the economic capital of Cameroon to the northern part of the country.
