Small Medium Enterprises to exhibit at MIDEST 2014 in France

The world’s leading industrial subcontracting show dubbed “MIDEST 2014” holds in Paris, France next month and dozens of Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and small industries in Cameroon are poised to participate.

The Cameroon delegation will be led by the Minister of SME, Social Economy and Handicraft, Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa.

By taking part in this 44th show to run from November 4 - 7 at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre, the Biya administration hopes to increase the participation of Cameroonian SMEs in strategic sectors and major projects.

This is part of efforts by the SME ministry to improve the contribution of SMEs and large enterprises to GDP through subcontracting; improve the quality of Public Investment Budget projects by subcontracting companies and ensure local SMEs run 30% of major projects through subcontracting.

MIDEST is far from resting on its laurels following its success in 2013. For 2014 it is innovating in numerous ways despite its remarkable achievement last year during difficult times for industry in general and French industry in particular of holding both the amount of exhibition space and the number of exhibitors steady whilst increasing visitor numbers by a sizeable 7%.

MIDEST 2014 will be held in conjunction with MAINTENANCE EXPO, the total maintenance solutions show. It will also present the forthcoming MIDEST MAROC, THE industry event in Morocco, which will run from Dec 10-13 in Casablanca and which is organised around six major sectors: subcontracting, machine tools, sheet metals, electronics, plastics and services.
