SNH and Tower Resources sign a production-sharing contract

The National Hydrocarbons Company (SNH) has signed a production-sharing contract with Tower Resources petro-gas operator (London) on September 15, 2015 in Yaoundé.

The accord was carried out at the Thali block, located in the Rio Del Rey, in the Cameroonian offshore, sources said.

Tower Resources is already in possession of an exploration program on this block, for the next three years. Planning of operations includes the acquisition of seismic data 3D in 2016, and the actual launch of drilling in 2017-2018.

In addition to the block Thali, Tower Resources was also interested in the Dissoni block which is also located in the Rio Del Rey basin; an extension of the system of hydrocarbons in the Niger Delta, the oil-rich region of Nigeria. As a reminder, this petro-gas operator was announced in May 2014, will be part of a discussion with the government of Cameroon for the licensing on this block.

According to Tower Resources, the Dissoni block is adjacent to "existing blocks, which have a long history of oil production. The Oak discovery in 2012, on the adjacent Bolongo block by Glencore, is a "reassuring element on its potential,” supported the petro-gas firm.
