After a disastrous year in 2013 characterized by a net loss of 319 million CFA francs recorded at year end, the Cameroon mineral waters Company (SEMC) has returned to profit in the first half of 2014, recording a net profit of 36.7 million CFA francs, the company announced in a statement.

According to the financial statements of the company, the first one to be listed on the Douala stock exchange (DSX), Cameroon's capital market, the positive result is itself the consequence of the 10% increase in the turnover of the Semc over the same period, which indicator has increased from 4.2 billion CFA francs from 30 June 2013, to 4.9 billion CFA francs to 30 June 2014.

The source of this increase of about 700 million CFA francs in sales, as explained by the financial department of the company, "is the rising level of activity, due to the launch of the promotion on the format 1 and 5 liter (Tangui mineral water bottle) and export sales. "

Although "temporary difficulties have occurred in the production of flavoured waters," the Semc subsidiary of the Brasseries du Cameroon (SABC), specialized in the production of mineral water Tangui brand, is already expecting the second half of 2014 with "optimism".

This, we learn is because of the "successful launch of new formats bottles of 5 and 10 liters".
