The Secretary General of the Prime Ministry has criticized the shortcomings in the implementation of major projects.

It was during the last sitting of the National Road Council Conferences (Conaroute).

The awarding of public contracts is a problem in Cameroon. The procedures for the award of these contracts to undertakings are tainted with several irregularities.

Consequently, the sites are so poorly executed or not delivered at all. Cameroon, which aspires to emerge by 2035, might jeopardize its chances to achieve this. Louis Paul Motaze recommended that the different actors involved in the implementation of developmental projects in Cameroon are engaged to see to it that Cameroon achieve this dream.

"There have been some delays in executing many projects because of the incompetence of bidders who won the markets. Contracts are given to companies that promise to complete the project at a ridiculous price; this is the game engaged by many services," he said.

The lowest bidder is most favoured because it allows some officials to carve out a portion of the envelope. With this in mind, the Secretary-General of the Prime Ministry raises the tone and described the evil that is rooted. On the occasion of the recent Assize conferences of the National Highway Council (Conaroute), Louis Paul Motaze noted with regret that several projects are not moving.

The case of the construction of the Jubilee of Independence in cities of Cameroon decided by the Head of State in the cities of Yaounde and Douala; the construction project of Yaounde-Douala Highway and many others.

Motaze: At work

Before his appointment as the Secretary General of the Prime Ministry, Louis Paul Motaze had already made his mark in the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Development. Moreover, it is to his credit that the Cameroonian government developed, in 2010, the Strategy Paper for Growth and Employment (ECSD). This is obviously an experienced and sufficiently impregnated man of issues related to the start-up of major projects.

Today, he chairs several committees for the purpose of monitoring implementation of some projects. Indeed, the Secretary-General of the Prime Ministry is one of the collaborators of the head of stated who apprehended the 2035 vision.

Despite the courage of Louis Paul Motaze to face the challenges and especially to move the lines where others struggle to achieve their goals, it is important to recognize that the SG / PM also benefits from the support of other employees. The management is decentralized for efficiency.
