Paul Biya must decide on the FCFA - Woungly Massaga

«Sortons du FCFA, vive le Toumai», translated as "Getting through the CFA, long live the Toumai", is the title of a 30-page booklet published by Woungly Massaga.

In this booklet, the veteran of the UPC urged 14 countries in the franc zone to adopt their own currency.

According to him, with the FCFA, we cannot develop. "This is because it is based on the operations account, which is a slave disposal. This goes not only for settlement but to slavery because there is no economic, political, and moral justification. Even when we did the foreign trade, we were obliged to pay tax to the French," he noted in the Le Quotidien de l’Economie newspaper on Friday, November 20, 2015.

When they come for consultation, the topic on the CFA continues. The CFA should disappear by the decision of our Head of State," he reiterated.

Asked about the link between Article 66 of the Constitution which is not implemented and the output of the CFA Franc, Commandant Kissamba argued that "for 20 years, President Paul Biya has acted like there was no problem. And this is the same behavior that appears on the CFA. That is, they pretended not to fight it. But meanwhile, the CFA continues to penalize our development. Biya is smart and that's why we thought that even though he has remained silent on Article 66, he would have to decide on the release of the countries of the CFA franc."
