Over 1 trillion FCFA collected in taxes; three months to 2014

200 billion CFA francs more to collect in the 4th quarter of 2014 for the General Tax Directorate of the Cameroon Ministry of Finance to achieve its 2014 goals.

At the end of the last evaluation meeting of officials of the administration held in Ngaoundere on October 10, it emerged that the DGI has collected as at September 30, 2014, an amount of 1.46 trillion CFA francs (against a forecast of 941 billion CFA francs) on annual forecast 1.24 billion CFA francs excluding oil.

At the DGI a positive fiscal year end was in sight as the National Tax Administration who since the beginning of the year has never received below a quarterly gathering of less than 200 billion francs cfa, currently an amount necessary to complete the goals of 2014.

According to Modeste Mopa, the Director General of Taxation, the performance of the tax administration, which will certainly exceed the annual forecast issued by the Ministry of Finance, is the result of recent reforms particularly the reorganization of the Division of Large Enterprises (DGE), the largest provider of revenue to the DGI, and the launch of five Taxes Medium Enterprises centers (CIME), especially dedicated to monitoring SMEs.
