Orange Cameroon plays the transparency card with call cost

Since a few days, subscribers to the Orange mobile operator automatically received an alert at the end of each call made.

The latter informs them of the duration of communication and what it cost them in terms of communication credit. A novelty that allows consumers to better manage their package, and that puts an end to suspicions against the telecom operator on the veiled overbilling of calls on its network.

For the moment, Orange Cameroon is the only one of the three mobile phone companies in Cameroon to offer this service. MTN and Nexttel were still slow to implement this recommendation from the Minister of posts and Telecommunications, Jean Pierre Biyiti bi Essam.

At the launch of the nine-digit dial, 24 September 2014, this member of the Government had called telcos to greater transparency in their services. He reminded them that consumers have the right to know the terms of supplies of services, costs and other expenses.

MTN and Nexttel consumers who want to know how much a call cost them must therefore still proceed by the good old method of short code for checking balance.
