More than 5 million hectolitres of alcohol consumed in 2014

La Société Anonyme des Brasseries du Cameroun (SABC), a subsidiary of the French group Castel, has revealed that more than 5 million hectolitres of alcohol was consumed in Cameroon in the year 2014.

Sales by SABC increased to 6, 6% in 2014 as compared to 2013. The company stated that 5 359 099 hectolitres (Hl) of alcohol was sold in 2014 against the 5 027 463 hl in 2013 for alcoholic beverages.

When it comes to soft drinks (Juice), SABC, recorded about 4 million hectoliters consumed in 2014. At the global market level, sales increased to 3 172 000 hl in 2014 representing a growth of 4.4%, against 2 124 903 hl in 2013.

Its main competitor, Source du Pays also sold 1 036 800 hl in 2014.
