MTN wins International Gold Accreditation Award

Cameroon’s telecommunications market leader, MTN Cameroon, has been awarded a gold accreditation in recognition of what they style as it’s excellent people management practices by an internationally renowned independent organization which has already done so to 15,000 huge companies in 75 countries christened 'Investors in people or IIP of British origin' created in 1991 by the British Government to get the best out of their employees through the evaluation and reinforcements of their people management practices. This was revealed on Friday January 30, through their press release.

MTN officials say that it should be noted that for their 15 years of operations in here, no Cameroonian company of the same standing has ever achieved this reputable recognition and neither has it been done by any member of the MTN Group.

Small wonder MTN Group Chief Human Resources and Corporate Affairs Officer Paul Norman, hailed MTN Cameroon as the pride of the entire Group. MTN Cameroon Chief Executive officer (CEO), Karl Toriola has always acknowledged human capital as the backbone to every leading organization.

Statistically, MTN Cameroon employs 1,000 employees out of which only 3 are expatriates. According to MTN local officials, these workers are guided and empowered to express their talents wherever they can grow.

It is said that some have climbed the ladder of authority and are serving in places including Congo, Ivory Coast, Benin, Guinea, Iran and Group headquarters in South Africa.

Rising from a lower accreditation in 2013, according to IAN Arbuckle, Investor In People Assessor.
