Louis Berger to oversee the modernization of 2 stadiums

The French company, Louis Beger, announced that it will "will supervise the modernization of several stadiums in Yaoundé, Cameroon's capital."

This was announced on October 26, 2015, and the stadiums will be used to host the African Nations Cup and the African Women's Football Championship, in 2016 and 2019 respectively.

"We are honoured to help meet the infrastructure needs of two of the most prestigious sporting events in Africa," said Jacques Blanc, deputy CEO of Louis Berger in Africa.

Two football stadiums in the capital are involved in this project. It is, we learn from one of the annexes stadiums of Yaounde Omnisports stadium, which will be converted into a training ground for 1,000 seats, as well as the military stadium in the capital, which will have 2000 seats.

According to Louis Berger, the modernization of these two sports infrastructure "will meet the requirements of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), will include the development of play areas and new stands and new dressing rooms and sanitary."

"As part of the first phase of the contract, Louis Berger has prepared architectural and engineering studies for this modernization. The Cameroon Ministry of Sport and Physical Education has already approved the results of the studies for six of the eight specific objectives of the project. Tenders for the works were launched on the basis of consultation documents drawn up by Louis Berger; work will start in the coming days and Louis Berger will monitor and control."

This company is currently conducting ten projects in the country and has already completed more than 25 other projects.
