Construction work at Congo market is making great progress after the first stone was laid almost four years ago.

A few days ago, the government delegate of the Douala City Council (Cud), Fritz Ntone Ntone, went there to inquire about the progress of work on the ground.

Aside the property ownership and financial problems that have been solved, the next problem was the quality of the soil; the Congo market is marshy. However, it is a matter of applying new technology.

According to the explanations obtained from the website, engineers are working to get the land beyond 10m depth, by driving piles. This will constitute the base structure to accommodate the already fabricated metal structure.

Once this step is completed, it will be possible to ride the rest of the building. And according to the government delegate, this can be done in a month. So by "April 2016, the first side will be completed and the second phase will begin."

Brigitte Ngalle, the company responsible for performing the work, said there is no longer an obstacle.

"Financing is going well, we now expect the metal structure." The government delegate also visited the warehouses and manufacturing of materials in the industrial zone of Bassa.
