Apollinaire Ngwe, the president of the Interprofessional Council for Cocoa and Coffee (ICCC) in Cameroon, will lead a delegation consisting of 20 Cameroonian coffee roasters on September 13 to 19, 2015 to Trieste, Italy.

This was announced by the ICCC in an official communiqué, issued on September 11, 2015.

This promotion and prospecting mission, which stressed on the inter-profession of cocoa-coffee in Cameroon, aims to “seize the opportunity of the holding of the World Expo, to establish and strengthen business contacts, in order to find new opportunities for Cameroon coffee.”

In Italy, said the ICCC, the Cameroonian delegation "intends to repeat the same experience” in June 2015 in France. That was the time where Cameroonian roasters had won three of the five prizes at stake on the occasion of the first edition of the contest for coffees roasted in the countries of origin. It was organized by the Agency for the Promotion of Agricultural Products (AVPA).

As a reminder, Cameroon is among the few countries in the world to produce both varieties of arabica and robusta coffees. But, the local industry has struggled to recover since the end of the 1990s, although Cameroon also enjoys the reputation of having a coffee with an intrinsic and taste recognized qualities.
