Govt signs pact with Dubai-based firm for energy project

The Cameroonian Government and the company Signature Africa Venture Ltd., a subsidiary of the investment company Signature Growth Capital Partners, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates based, have signed a memorandum of understanding for the implementation of feasibility studies, for development projects in the field of renewable energy.

These projects to be carried out on the BOT (Built Operate Transfer) model will concern the development of rural electrification, the construction of power plants to biomass, solar power plants and mini-hydropower in certain regions of the country.

The beginning of feasibility studies is expected to commence this January, indicated officials of signature Africa Venture Ltd., adding that they will have to ultimately improve national coverage of energy.

Signature Africa Venture Ltd. subsidiary, dedicated to investment in Africa, is especially active in the sectors of mining, energy, real estate and agriculture.
