Fourth edition of Youth Trade kicks off in Yaoundé

The fourth edition of the crossroads of trades on the theme, ‘Skills, key to the emergence in Cameroon’, has begun welcoming young people from various walks of life yesterday. Among them are young people from the Centre of Rapid Vocational Training to Industrial Trades of Pitoa (CFPRMI/Pitoa) with rather innovative ideas.

With the official opening scheduled for Thursday November 27, students, pupils, young entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to meet with various educational, training and jobs promotion agencies until tomorrow Friday November 28 at the esplanade of the Yaoundé Town Hall.

“We chose to exhibit renewable energy. We have solar lamps, Chargers solar phones, solar ovens for cooking food, stoves and cookstoves”, noted the Assistant head of the Centre to CFPRMI, Daniel Bello.

He added, "Our goal is to show the public that with the Sun, we can solve the problems of load shedding, the lack of domestic gas, and make savings by reducing wood consumption and deforestation. Also thanks to the improved stoves one can use use two pieces of wood instead of a bundle".

Then again is the stand of the Programme Integrated Support to Actors in the Informal Sector (PIAASI). "The body was set up to help young people who have projects but no support, to achieve them through loans that are granted to them. It also helps in the organization of the informal sector," noted Thérèse Nga Ambassa, an official from PIAASI framework.

Among his expectations, "We wish that young people come to acquire useful information at the programme. We also expect the presence of policymakers, entrepreneurs so that they are close to our services when the time comes." In the case of entrepreneurs the recipient of PIAASI funding, Mounde Ndam, will talk about his achievements. Thus departments, training centres and universities will continue prospecting for young people seeking training and employment until Friday.
