Eneo earns a net profit of 2.28 billion FCFA in 2014

Eneo Eneo

The management team of Eneo can show a sigh of relief after making public, for the first time, its annual activity report.

According to the document, the Cameroonian society earned a net profit of 2.28 billion FCFA (about 3.5 million euros) in 2014, after having registered a loss of 406 million FCFA in 2013.

This new culture of transparency was set up by the British capital-investor Actis, the new Eneo reference shareholder, under the leadership of Joël Nana Kontchou, who was appointed as the head of the company more than a year ago.

No compensation for shareholders

In detail, the turnover jumped from 14.23% to 279.2 billion FCFA. This growth was aided by a 17.5 billion FCFA tariff compensation granted by the government, due to the blocking of the electricity prices in the country. Demand has also increased by 7.5% over the previous year, said Joël Nana Kontchou.
