The contribution of the customs administration in the state coffers during 2016 fiscal year amounted to FCFA 752 said the Directorate General of Customs (DGC) in preparation for the celebration on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, the World Customs Day (WDD).

An increase in the contribution as compared to last year, when FCFA 738 billion were expected.

To achieve this, the customs administration announced a battery of measures ranging from strengthening border controls in the border areas and the main structures of revenue at the Douala port and the Douala International airport, the simplification and modernization procedures with the institution of the single window in the cargo clearance process.

Despite the insecurity in the northern part of the country, particularly in the region of the Far North, which faces the terrorist attacks from the Nigerian Boko Haram sect beating down the activities between the two countries, the customs CEO Fongod Nuvaga said he intends to fulfill the missions assigned to him by the government.
