Consumption: Rice price will not increase

Despite the introduction of a new tax on imported rice in Cameroon, the price of that food will not experience a rise in the markets.

The announcement was made yesterday by the Minister of Commerce Luc Magloire Atangana Mbarga, after consultations between the government and the operators in this sector.

It was part of a series of consultation between the government, consumer rights associations, and the operators of the production sector and distributors of mass consumer products.
