Communication Ministry's 2015 budget slashed by 1.23 billion CFA F

Issa Tchiroma Bakary, Communication minister recounts challenges facing the Commission of finance and Budget on Wednesday December 3.

For the year 2015, the amount of the budget allocation for the benefit of the Ministry of Communication (MINCOM) stood at 9.334 billion F, with 6,884 billion F for the budget operation and 2.5 billion F for the investment budget. Compared to the year 2014, this budget has decreased by 1.23 billion F, 10% in relative value.

Facing the National Assemble recently, he noted that this money will be used to perform the activities in the two programs of MINCOM, among other things, the transmission of the draft at the trust account for the development of the media, in accordance with the recommendations of the State communication in 2012.

A study for the extension of the device's graphical production of SOPECAM towards areas hardly covered by the distribution of newspapers and other communication media; updating the specifications of the communication Centres abroad for promotion of Cameroon brand outside; the restructuring of the National Commission for the issuance of the press card, in the sense of a better support of its regulatory responsibilities; the relaunch of the process of licensing the creation and operation of private audiovisual communication enterprises; the Organization of the press trips for journalists in Cameroon to promote the image of the country abroad.
