Cocoa price in Cameroon increases

Cocoa is highly rated at this time in Cameroon after an increase in the price of the bean kilogram increased from FCFA 1500 to FCFA 1700.

Three months after the launch of the cocoa season, this is the first time the price per kilogram crossed the bar of FCFA 1515, as revealed by the National Cocoa and Coffee Board (NCCB).

According to observers, "the upward trend could be confirmed in the coming weeks, especially between the months of November and December where orchards have reached the highest production phase."

The increase in cocoa prices also depends on the organization of sales channels, with the creation of cooperatives whose structure allows producers to avoid being cheated by the buyers.

This is the case of the Obala in Centre Region and Ndom in the Littoral Region where producers have been 'rubbing their hands' since the opening of the cocoa season pending spikes over the next two months.
