Cameroon wins 10 places in “Doing Business 2015” ranking

Cameroon is ranked 158th in the “Doing Business 2015” ranking, the barometer of the World Bank published October 28, that annually analyses the business environment in 189 countries around the world.

Cameroon wins 10 places since it appeared in the 168th place in the 2014 ranking.

Cameroon is the second country of the Economic Community of Central Africa (CEMAC) in the ranking, behind Gabon ranked 144th but before Nigeria (170th), the first economic power of the black continent.

Two countries of the CEMAC zone are among the last five of the rankings. This is Chad, ranked 185th out of 189, and the Central African Republic, a country torn by a new political crisis since March 2013, ranked 187th.

Ranked ahead of France, Mauritius (28th) has the best business environment in the continent.

South Africa (43) is ranked in second position after losing 6 world ranks compared to 2014, followed by Rwanda, which gained two places to climb to 46th, and Tunisia, which yields four positions to find 60th.

At the 5th position of the African rankings, comes Ghana (70th), followed by Morocco (71), Botswana (74th), Seychelles (85th), Namibia (88th) and Swaziland (110th).

Benin, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal and Togo are among the top 10 countries with the most improved business regulations among the 189 economies covered by the report.
