The Cameroonian civil aviation authority (CCAA) has given local carrier Camair-Co (QC, Douala) the greenlight to resume flights to Europe.

In late June, the regulator revoked Camair-Co’s European traffic rights citing the airline’s “state of unpreparedness ahead of a major audit” with the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) regarding its Third Country Operator (TCO) authorization.

At the time, the CCAA claimed any fallout would have negative consequences for both parties. It then revoked Camair-Co’s permission to serve Europe.

However, Cameroonian Minister of Transport, Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo’o, said in a statement issued August 1 that following a tripartite consultation between his ministry, the CCAA, and airline officials, the decision was taken to uplift the embargo.

Camair-Co last served Paris CDG – its only European destination – back on June 24. Until the return of its sole widebody aircraft, aB767-300(ER), following nearly eight months of maintenance atAddis Ababa, the Paris route was serviced using one of Camair-Co’s two B737-700s.
