Cameroon-Turkey trade flourishes up to 86.5b FCFA

Estimated at 75 billion CFA francs in 2013, trade between Cameroon and Turkey in this year 2014 are already estimated at 86.5 billion CFA francs, an increase of more than 11 billion CFA francs in less than a year, this was revealed during a B to B meetings day between Turkish and Cameroonian traders, held September 9, 2014 in Douala.

However, we learnt that the trade balance is a heavy loss for Cameroon, which has so far exported only 25.4 billion CFA francs to Turkey, while that country ranked as 15th economy in Europe, exporting 61 billion CFA francs on Cameroon.

With the recent revitalization of economic cooperation between the two countries, including economic mission led by the Head of State Paul Biya, in Ankara in March 2013; Turkey and Cameroon expect a trade volume of 250 billion CFA francs by 2015.
