Cameroon 6th Business Forum session begins

The sixth session of the Cameroon Business Forum begins this Monday 9th March 2015 in Douala.

The session is being chaired by Prime Minister and Head of Government Philemon Yang who is being accompanied by a handful of Cabinet members in charge of economic related issues.

The meeting which is holding at the Hotel Sawa is another great opportunity for the think-tank t to explore ways of improving the public-private partnership for a better business climate in Cameroon.

During previous sessions, the forum tabled a number of recommendations and guidelines needed to reinforce this partnership and improve on the business environment.

The present sitting, organized under the theme “Supporting Growth through the effective implementation of reforms” shall amongst other issues, examine the distance covered in the execution of these reforms, identify major setbacks in the implementation and make fresh proposals.

Noteworthy is that 36 recommendations belonging to 12 areas were identified for reforms during the fifth session of the Cameroon Business Forum that held in March 2014.

Experts say just 50% of these reforms have been executed; the session has resolved to speed up the process.

Cameroon’s progress on the classification table of “Doing Business” gives more reason for Philemon Yang and his delegation to tie-up with the private sector and make things happen in the economic domain.
