After receiving certification from the Civil Aviation Authority of Cameroon, the Director General of the National airline company has announced the inaugural flight of the Chinese-made equipment for December 23.

According to Cameroon Tribune, Jean Paul Nana Sandjo indicated that this maiden flight on December 23 will take place in Douala and Yaounde.

Subsequently, these aircraft will service all domestic routes, including Bertoua, Bafoussam, Bamenda and Koutaba. These aircraft are said to land on different types of tracks.

Any documentation prior to the circulation planes was obtained by the national airline. The training of flight crews and mechanics is nearing completion with the camera manufacturer in China.

The year 2016 could be a crucial year for the company which may not take off again. Everything will depend on the results of the audit of the company and the recovery plan proposed by the current senior management.

The exercise, by a team of Boieng should help justify the release of 30 billion of the stimulus plan. The fund would enable the acquisition of an aircraft to honour the 15 stops of airline flight plan.

To accelerate the reduction of charges, the team has planned to build maintenance workshops, to acquire a more modern aircraft to compete in the Douala – Paris line.

With a minimum fleet of 10 aircraft, Jean Paul Nana Sandjo considers incorporating an alliance under a 2016-2019 Camair-co project. This requires ISO certification before April 2016 and accession to the IATA, IOSA certification and entry to the airline clearing house.

The optimism of the Camair-Co boss is based on the competitiveness of the Cameroonian market of air transport. He speaks of the eleven weekly flights of Air France, seven of Royal Air Morocco and Turkish Airlines have an average occupancy rate of 80%.

The intervention of DG Camair -co follows a very difficult high season.

During the last months, the company has faced a lack of equipment during the Hajj operations and rental returns of Cameroonians in Diaspora.

Nana Sandjo explained that two aircraft were in service and another was seized by its owner. Despite this shortfall, the company must maintain wage costs of its 700 employees.
