Since the launch of its activities in 2011, the public air transport company has never really taken off in terms of competitiveness and profitability.
With a fleet of three aircraft only, the Camair-Co toils under a heavy debt burden estimated at 30 billion CFA francs.
The Cameroonian government has called for expressions of interest for the recruitment of a consultant to audit and to assist the national air transport company Camair-Co in the development of a restructuring and recovery plan.
In its communiqué, the government specified that "the recovery plan developed by the company in November 2013 and which has been updated in 2014 so far could not be implemented".
Consequently, "the difficulties increased to such an extent that they threaten the balance of the company and the continuation of its operation."
Firms interested in this service were invited to submit their offers no later than September 30, 2015, at 12 noon, at the Ministry of Finance in Yaoundé. The mission is to be carried out within a maximum period of three months.
