CAMTEL, CRTV, SNH and CDC among top 10 companies evading social security tax

In a report by The World Bank group, "Investing in Cameroon" for the 2013 year, it showed that some public and private companies do not pay their workers Social security contributions to the CNPS

According to the survey conducted by the group, Invest in Cameroon, Cameroon Telecommunications (Camtel) ranks first social delinquency and accumulated arrears of social security contributions worth the sum of FCFA 7 billion to the CNPS.

Cameroon Radio and Television (CRTV) come second with a social debt of FCFA 1.8 billion for 2013. CRTV is "is closely followed by National Hydrocarbons Corporation (SNH) owing FCFA 1.5 billion to CNPS, "according to Invest in Cameroon.

SNH sharing 3rd place in the standings with the Cameroon Development Corporation (CDC), located at the foot of Mount Cameroon.

Industrial Cotton Company in North of Cameroon (Cicam) occupies the fourth position with a debt of FCFA 1.4 billion arrears of social security contributions.

The Chemical Cameroon (CCC) Complex, based in Douala has more than FCFA 1billion CFA as arrears to the CNPS.

The agri-company that is specialised in vegetable oils, Pamol, accumulates a debt of FCFA 1.2 billion. While the Cameroon Industrial and Shipyard Company, Chantier Naval follows Pamol with FCFA927 million in arrears.

Ndawara Tea Estate, owned by billionaire, Baba Hamadou Danpoulo who is the main shareholder of Viettel Cameroon, is at the 9th position with arrears of FCFA 840 million.

The top 10 list of insolvent Cameroonian social security closes with the plantations company of Mbanga (SPM) with a debt of FCFA 769 million to pay the CNPS.
