CAMRAIL demands equitable use of FCFA 6 mln donation

The General Manager of the Cameroon Rail Way company known by its French Acronym as CAMRAIL, Dedier Vandenbon, has demanded for a judicious and equitable use of an FCFA 6 million donation it made to Ecole Publique d'Application, Ntam, in Kumba.

Vandenbon made the appeal on the campus of Government Practising Primary School Ntam, while officially handing over the donation consisting of didactic materials.

The CAMRAIL boss said, if the resources are not used to upgrade the academic standards of the pupils who constitute tomorrow's Cameroon, then, the purpose of the gifts will be worthless.

Vandenbon explained that the donation comprising of some 1,000 exercise books, three computers, 400 pencils, 400 pens and over 400 colours, among other items, are strictly meant for the pupils.
To the CAMRAIL boss, the offer is meant to renew the interest of the children in their academic work.

He said the act was merely to commend Government in its move to provide better education opportunities to young Cameroonians.
He charged the youth to seize the opportunity and contribute to the building of a better Cameroon.

Vandenbon said the interest of the Bolloré Africa Logistics Group and CAMRAIL, in particular, was because of the peculiarity of the West rail line, linking Kumba and Mbanga.
According to him, the company accords a lot of respect to its customers, reason why it came to support the children.

Vandenbon intimated that CAMRAIL will continue to support actions that will ameliorate the socio economic development of Cameroon and its population.
He asserted that, at the beginning of the 2015/2016 school year, Bolloré Group offered gifts to some selected schools in Cameroon and the drive has taken CAMRAIL to Batanga in Kribi, Belabo and Kumba.

Constant Suebang, Head Teacher of the beneficiary institution told The Post that the donation was a dream come true. He said the challenges in the last academic year in terms of lack of didactic materials almost crippled the school.

Kumba III Divisional Officer, Gilbert Gubai Baldena, urged the school management to use the gift to sustain their track record of brilliant performance in public examinations.
