The British petro-gas firm Bowleven Plc, announced on September 28, 2015, that it has discovered traces of hydrocarbons at the end of the drilling of the Moambe wells.
It is the 2nd to have been drilled this year on the Bomono (after Zingana) licence, which covers two blocks of 2328 Km in the Douala basin in Cameroon. According to credible sources, the Moambe drilling has reached a depth of 1769 metres.
Bowleven also announced that test continues also on Zingana, the first well on which intervals of hydrocarbons were discovered in July 2015. There is the need, sources stated, to determine the level of productivity of the well, which may soon allow the supply of existing gas-fired power plants in the country.
The petro-gas firm revealed that besides preliminary tests or further underway, respectively on Moambe and Zebrano wells, discussions are underway in this direction with Eneo and Actis.
It is for the British petro-gas, in the case of gas tests concluding the potentials of the two well above, to win a contract for the supply of gas to the dealer of the public service of electricity in Cameroon.
