British petro-gas firm, Bowleven, officially announced on November 25, 2015, that company operates in onshore Cameroon.

This was after having concluded positive flow tests on its Moambe wells, which recently began issuing its first oil flows through the Bomono license.

During testing, sources said, the well could perform gas production stabilized at "7.3 million standard cubic feet (mmscf) through a 48/64 choke with a flowing wellhead pressure 664 psi, without any signs of exhaustion be recorded" during the initial trial period."

"We are pleased with the early positive results on Moambe flow tests that give us greater confidence in the commercial viability of future Bomono development plans," said Kevin Hart. CEO of Bowleven referring to discussions currently underway with Eneo in order to supply natural gas power plants managed by the concessionaire of the public electricity service.

As a reminder, Bowleven had officially announced the discovery of hydrocarbons at Moambe on 28 September 2015.

In its report for the year that ended on June 30, 2015, the oil and gas operator announced that it will file an application to obtain a gas exploration license on the Bomono license in November 2015 to Cameroonian authorities.

This especially as the current exploration license, which Bowleven owns 100% and covering two blocks of 2328 Km in the Douala Basin in Cameroon, officially expire on December 12, 2015.

The operation is in favour of a one-year extension obtained from the Cameroonian authorities in December 2014.
