Bayam-Sellam exhibition fair ends today

Training, business and contacts were the essence of the bayam-selam on the eve of the closing of the national Forum of exchanges between the bayam-selam and the other actors in the informal sector (Febasi).

In addition to the great fair were discussions on capacity-building, entrepreneurship and the setting up of projects since access to the formal sector seems feasible.

"Training has been very enlightening for me. I know my rights and duties to carry out my business according to the required standards," an exhibitor indicated. In addition to the great fair, the Febasi opened on November 15, was an interactive educative sessions and other discussions.

At the center of these discussion was the question concerning the migration from the informal sector to the formal and hence the improvement of the living conditions of the "bayam-sellam" and other actors in the informal economy was discussed.

For nine days, bayam-sellam, artisans, farmers, farmers and private companies from the 10 regions of the country exhibited their products, including, tubers, vegetables, fruit, clothing, among others. Nathalie D., a visitor to the fair noted that "the affordable prices eased my burden as I did my two weeks shopping here".

In addition, the food stuffs are very good," she noted. The Forum was conducted with the support of the ministries in charge of trade, livestock and fisheries as well as small and medium-sized companies of the social economy and handicrafts.

Febasi was an initiative of the Association of the "bayam-sellam' (Asby). Created in 2004, this association brings together stakeholders in rural areas across the country and even beyond the borders. This year, making it 10 years of existence, the wish is that production capacity will increase to ensure better marketing of products.

In addition to the creation of a platform between traders, the Asby brand safety and the restoration of discipline in the markets has won for them one of its most prestigious trophies.

Asby has as part of its impending projects, the construction of the peasant boxes with a commissary for first necessity goods, the construction of the mills in production areas and the construction of a Chantal Biya home 'Bayam-sellam '.

During the event, Asby handed gifts to Kondengui central prison, organized a football match against bayam-selam farmers and Miss bayam-selam 2014 was elected.
