Cameroon's Minister of Energy Basile Atangana Kouna has signed a memorandum of understanding with French solar company Générale du solaire and France-based investment fund Arborescence Capital for the construction of several PV projects with a combined capacity of 300 MW across the country.

Local portal Investir au Cameroun reports that the two companies will build the plants across several regions and that the first 20 MW project will be developed in the region of Adamaoua, northern Cameroon.

The project will be built at a cost of 18 billion CFA ($29.8 million). The two companies will break ground on the plant when they will have signed the PPA for the project with local utility Eneo.
