Agribusiness attracts new private investments

Agroindustrial sector in the country will soon experience several injections of capital. Indeed, the BRASAF SA will invest 30.5 billion Cfa francs in the subsector of the brewery with the creation of 995 new jobs while SCOOP Antolem cooperative society, will put one billion Cfa francs to create 2,500 jobs.

According to Cameroon Tribune, these investments, which received official approval on January 19, are part of the law of incentives for private investment.

Last year, this legislation had already benefited 13 companies which also had tax benefits. This year five new companies have already joined this group. They invested an amount of 45 billion francs and will create about 5,000 jobs.

Besides BRASAF and SCOOP Antolem, the African Pool Construction (APC SA), the Cameroonian Savonnerie Society (SCS) and the First Cosmetics Industry (FICO SA) will total 13.9 billion Cfa francs in the Cameroonian economy.
