60,000 tonnes of palm oil to be imported again in 2015

As was the case last year to ease a production shortage estimated at over 100,000 tonnes, Cameroon will be importing another 60,000 tonnes of crude palm oil this year to guarantee supply to refineries, soap manufacturers and households.

To encourage these imports, the above-mentioned committee is suggesting that the government authorise that they receive a preferential customs duty of 5% along with VAT exemption.
