43m FCFA redeployed in second generation agriculture

The eleventh session of the Steering Committee of the programme of support for the control of work of authorities in the rural sector Minader - Minepia (AMO) was recently held in Yaoundé.

The assessment of experts, showed that it remains, in the whole of the budget allocated by the program to make operational agriculture of second generation in Cameroon, a balance of 43 million F.

This sum is, according to the members of the Steering Committee, to reinvest with the aim of consolidating gains from the implementation of financing. Thus,the uses of the remainder of the AMO 1 budget proposals were made.

In this regard, he mentioned that a FCFA 23 million could be allocated to the support for the promotion of public policies involving the development of the frameworks of dialogue, the development of public policy documents, support for departmental meetings.

And the 20 remaining million would be allocated to support the strengthening of operational capacity and management of decentralized services of ministries (Minader and Minepia).

The Secretary general of Minader, Jean Claude Eko'o Akouafane, co-Chair of the Steering Committee of the program explained: "the AMO program remains the main support available to Minepia and Minader in their quest for a sustainable improvement of their performance, especially in what concerns the capacity building for technical, logistical and managerial authorities" he added: "but also the participative development of sub-sectoral public policies in different areas coupled with a support to the development of the frameworks of national and regional consultations between the State and organizations of producers.

"In presenting its evaluation report, the program Coordinator noted an "improvement in the level of implementation of activities that should accelerate and be completed at the end of the second half of 2014. "The second phase of the AMO, from 2016 aims at improving the effectiveness of funding and strengthening the technical capacity of the ministries among others.

The indirect beneficiaries of the support of the programme are farmers, ranchers, fishermen, as well as the various organizations of the sector.
