Twelve Algerian economic operators are set to conquer the Cameroonian market after they participated in the first edition of the Algerian trade fair opened yesterday in Yaounde.

What they brought: their expertise in food processing, construction, household appliances, pharmaceuticals.

The showroom was an opportunity to present the Cameroonian public; Algeria's potential in these areas. Moussaoui Bilal, commercial director of Moussaoui, machine tools manufacturing company, said it is "to discover the know-how and the Algerian technological advances that can be installed in Cameroon."

We want to present the usefulness of our products; making exports to Cameroon and long term install manufacturing plants." It was an opinion supported by the Minister of Commerce (MINCOMMERCE), Luc Magloire Atangana Mbarga, when he said that Cameroonians want to realize that there are complementarities between Cameroon and Algerian partners.

"In the food sector, for example, we have the raw material and Algeria, technology. There are a number of combinations; we will have to work on it," he said.

In turn, the minister said that "it is important for partners to know each other and create a bond of trust to give meaning to the South-South partnership."

After he led a Cameroonian delegation to the International Fair of Algiers in 2013, the MINCOMMERCE and his colleagues agreed on the fact that Algeria has a good head start which "we can learn."

The fair, which was opened yesterday in the presence of the Ambassador of Algeria to Cameroon, Merzak Bedjaoui, runs until November 1.
