The Chamber of Conciliation and Arbitration (CCA) of the National Olympic and Sports Committee of Cameroon (CNOSC) is due to start discussions on Tuesday on the case opposing the Professional Football League case of Cameroon (LFPC) and the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT).

The first hearing on the case held on April 1 and was adjoined because of the absence of representatives of the Federation.

The dispute between the two institutions resulting from FECAFOOT’s cancellation of the texts of the Professional Football League has taken a legal twist.

LFPC filed an appeal to the CCA to delete Resolutions 4 and 5 of the Executive Committee meeting of FECAFOOT that held on 17th March 2016.

According to the resolution, the Federation considered that the statutes of the League, dated November 2014, were not adopted "in accordance with the law and the statutes of FECAFOOT."

Consequently, the texts in force are those of 2011. "There is still much to do to establish a reliable Football League and which is really professional.

The Executive Committee of FECAFOOT decided to cancel the articles of the League, because it failed to submit them to the General Assembly of Federation”, Sidiki Tombi Roko, President of FECAFOOT explained.

In addition, the Executive Committee mandated the President of FECAFOOT for the appointment of a new interim management committee to run the LFPC for a period of one year.

The President of the Provisional Management Committee of the LFPC, Pierre Semengue said the disputed statutes were drawn by the Standards Committee of FECAFOOT. "They asked us to adopt them without change."

In addition to the league, it is considered that the 2011 statutes were governed by the law of 5th August 1996 laying down the Charter of physical activities and sports, a now repealed law which was replaced by that of 15 July 2011.

The President of the provisional management Committee of the LFPC Pierre Semengue stated in an interview to Cameroon Tribune that the complaint would be withdrawn if those decisions were annulled by FECAFOOT.
