Ramandan Feast: Muslims braced up for the D-Day

Muslims in the country are gradually moving to the end of the 30 days of fasting that culminates to celebrations of the feast of the Ram.

Though the exact date for the fasting is still to be specified after the appearance of the moon, preparations has intensified. In Briqueterie, one of the neigbourhoods highly populated by Muslims in Yaounde, sales of highly needed commodities for the feast is at its peak.

Tailors are presently working long hours to satisfy the needs of the customers. In some of these tailoring workshops, customers especially women, waited anxiously to claim the feast of the Ram outfits.

One of the tailors, Sani Alassan visibly tired, sounded assuring with regards to the feast and its organisations at all levels. He added that his team is working extremely hard to finish the pile of work before the feast .

Within Family circles, much is being put in place to ensure hitchfree festivity. Hadja Aissatou Dala said she has already bought the basic needs for the family. At the beauty saloons women are busy doing their hair, nails and other body tatoos to appear in their best during celebrations.

As the fasting gradually comes to an end, prayers accompanied by meditation intensifies. In the meantime, acts of charity recommended in the holy book, the Koran continous to be &extended to the needy.
