The commissioning of the pioneer Bishop of Kumba Diocese, Mgr. Agapitus Nfon, has been slated for May 7, 2016.

In a circular signed by the Bamenda Archbishop, Cornelius Fontem Esua, all parishes under his jurisdiction where Bishop Agapitus served as Auxiliary Bishop are expected to contribute financially and materially for the success of the event.

Bishop Esua expressed the wish to ‘see the whole of Bamenda Diocese emptied in-to Kumba in appreciation of the good works Bishop Agapitus carried out while in Bamenda as Auxiliary Bishop.

“I am appealing for your generosity because our Bishop is going to face a lot of challenges at his new station," said Bishop Esua.

An elderly Christian, Sama Ngwayi, 85, of Bayele Parish, Nkwen, said, “We are moving to Kumba with all facets of acculturation to demonstrate the love we have for him; most especially as we accompany Bishop Agapitus, prayers will take central stage. It is not only merry making, but a deep reflection and prayer trip with palm wine flowing, roasted cocoyams and kola nuts chewing at each stop on the way."

Christian communities and individuals have been visiting and praying with Bishop Agapitus, an agenda that was set by the Christian Men’s Fellowship, CMF, of Presbyterian Church Azire.
