The Parish Pastor of PC Bafoussam, Rev. Akontai Fidelis Taku, has been inducted.
He takes over from Rev. Assah Peter Achou with whom he swapped places in the same capacity in Mamfe Parish in June 2015.

Rev. Babila George Fochang, Synod Clerk of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC, inducted the 63-year-old father of six during a solemn church service recently.

Drawing inspiration from Revelation 19: 11-16, Rev. Babilahinged his sermon on “taking risks to achieve a greater goal”.

“I have reminded the pastor to know that Jesus Christ was humble and he submitted himself to the cross and so, I urged him and his collaborators to get out of their comfort zone and to know that their mission here is to bring to the Christians the life abundance that Jesus Christ promised to them,” said Rev. Babila.

Among other things, Rev. Babila called on Christians to be humble and truthful like Christ, because with these traits, even their enemies will testify that they are good.

He enjoined Christians not to be a stumbling block to Rev. Akontai.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of PC Bafoussam, who is also the Chairman of the West Presbytery, Elder AbiyahAngabo, presented the Presbytery.

“The Presbytery is blessed with a health complex, the general and the eye services under the expert control of Dr. NgounouFaustin, a Presprint attached to the Regional Delegation of Transport, and an authorised nursery and primary school in Bafoussam.

We are anxiously waiting for the PEA to formalise the authorisation for the reopening of the one in Foumbot.

With the efficiency and popularity of our health services, we are sure using it as an evangelistic measure will enhance Christianity to penetrate into Foumban, Magba and Bankim,” said AbiyahAngabo.

He added that since Rev. Akontai was sent to the West Region, he has shown his intention ‘to transform this Presbytery seat to ‘La Belle’.

“Looking at the financial and infrastructural achievements in just nine months, we are sure that if the Synod allows him on stage a little longer than his predecessors, he will make us all proud,” said AbiyahAngabo.

Rev. Akontai is a teacher, philosopher and counselor who has written many essays and he is currently a Masters student at the University of Buea.
