Imams trained on the use of ICT

Forty of them have been in training for over a month at the IAI campus.

Regardless of age, 40 Imams decided to learn how to operate computers. Their presence here is the result of an agreement between the Council of Imams and Muslim Dignitaries of Cameroon (Cidimuc) and the IAI which puts at their disposal framework, trainers and computer tools.

"The training is timely to solve problems that we were facing. The imams had problems to grab their sermons. This will also allow us to open ourselves to the world through the Internet and be impregnated with what is going on elsewhere," said Imam Oumarou Ayouba, who was affectionately designated as the head of class.

Mohamed Awal, Imam of the mosque of Mfou said he is somewhat satisfied. "We are to acquire good knowledge and we can teach others. Training commenced on 19 January and will end next week. They will have received a total of 40 hours at the rate of two sessions of 5 hours each per week and each learner will receive a certificate on software.
