Pope Francis advises Cameroonian Bishops

After their six day visit to the Vatican, Pope Francis called on the Bishops from Cameroon to live a life consistent with the Gospel.

During six days, they prayed on the tombs of the Apostles Peter and Paul. Models that Rome must follow in the total gift they have made for themselves, until their blood was the price for Christ and his Gospel. At the end of this visit, the Holy Father met with the Cameroonian episcopate which was a rich encounter.

Welcoming the apostolic zeal of priests working in difficult conditions and insecurity in some parts of the country, the Pope asked the Bishops of Cameroon to be vigilant in the accompaniment of vocations and support the training of priests for which they must be "attentive fathers." In a world that is secularized, training is essential to be able to answer the questions.

He revealed to them that the temptations are many: power, honor and money. Pope Francis warned them against mismanagement of property, personal enrichment, or waste. In his speech to the bishops, the Pontiff said that it is necessary that the clergy make the witness of life inhabited by the Lord, consistent with the requirements and the principles of the Gospel. For the Pope, there is an "intimate connection" between evangelization and human promotion.

"Your evangelization will be made even more efficient if the Gospel will be actually lived by those who received it and profess it," says the Pope who, beyond ethnic prejudices, invites them, moreover, to give thanks constantly and renew the gift of themselves to Christ and to the people entrusted to them.

"Without fearing difficulties, go bravely forward, with a renewed missionary spirit, to bring the good news to all those who await or who need it most ", concludes the Pope who calls on them also to develop "dialogue of life" with Muslims to preserve peaceful coexistence and discourage the development of violence.
