Bonamoussadi Parish Action Week Announced

The Catholic Church will use its 25 anniversary to promote justice and sustainable development.

In view of the celebration of the 25 anniversary of Our Lady of Annunciation Parish Bonamoussadi a series of preparatory activities, including a news conference, have begun.

The Action Week, which runs from April 13-28 this year is a part of activities to promote Christian values and the Church's responsibility for the development of the society. The objectives are to promote social justice by searching for solutions, promote intercultural dialogue, propose solutions to difficulties faced by enterprises, excite consciousness towards engagements made during baptism, among others.

While addressing a news conference at the Parish on March 21, Reverend Father Ignatius Musi Fon said the activities disclosed a range of activities including social, cultural, economic, spiritual, intellectual and sport activities. A trade and socio-cultural fair which will run throughout the two weeks, debate conference, football tournament, sport march, an arts and cultural evening, and choir competitions will be organised within the premises of the Parish.

The Parish was founded in 1986, but went operational in 1988. It covers neighbourhoods like Cité Bonamoussadi, Cité Maképé, Cité Kotto and the Banya zone. Brother Clément Njewel was the first servant of the Most High to have led the Parish.
